U.S. Border Patrol agents seeking to secure the nation's border in some of the country's most pristine national forests are being targeted by illegal aliens, who are using intentionally set fires to burn agents out of observation posts and patrol routes.
The wildfires also have resulted in the destruction of valuable natural and cultural resources in the National Forest System and pose an ongoing threat to visitors, residents and responding firefighters, according to federal law enforcement authorities and others.
In the Coronado National Forest in Arizona, with 60 miles of land along the U.S.-Mexico border, U.S. Forest Service firefighters sent in to battle fires or clear wild land fire areas are required to be escorted by armed law enforcement officers.
Armed smugglers of aliens and drugs have walked through the middle of active firefighting operations, the authorities said.
The Border Patrol's Tucson, Ariz., sector, which encompasses most of the Coronado National Forest, has the highest incidence of cross-border violators in the nation.
Nearly 500,000 illegal aliens were apprehended last year -- more than 30,000 a month. In addition, nearly 100,000 pounds of marijuana, with a street value of $200 million, was seized as it was hauled through the Coronado National Forest.
Wildfires are being set by alien and drug smugglers, authorities said, to create a diversion in an attempt to gain undetected access across the border. The fires correspond to a dramatic rise in assaults against Border Patrol agents — up more than 100 percent over last year.

They know that if the Border Agents do their job, they’ll end up in jail. Bring in a couple helicopter gunships and lets see who starts the fires next time.

They are being so unfair and selfish, it's not funny anymore.
My parents taught me not to be rude or take something that doesn't belong to me--I guess these illegals weren't ever told that.
I know we're the land of opportunity, but you have to come here iegally. They don't realize that just by coming here illegally makes them a criminal. They broke our laws and don't want to pay the price for it. And we just keep ignoring this bad behavior.

Another bad effect of illegal immigration. Illegal aliens are getting away with so much criminal activity that they assume they can do anything. They are destroying our culture and sovereignty.
The American people have spoken, and let our leaders know that we want a halt to illegal immigration. Too many of these leaders have reasons to keep this cheap labor coming and are determined to aid and abet the tide. We need to keep the pressure on our senators and the White House.
Imagine the reaction if Americans were illegally crossing into Mexico and causing problems there.

If this bill goes through this will be the evil harbinger of things to come. They will blackmail the congress to do their, every, bidding along with the corrupt Mexican Government.
It is time to throw the rotten apples out with the rest of the garbage in Washington.
You got to ask yourself this, the Mexican government don't want these people, the American People don't want these people ... has anyone ever asked the obvious question ... WHY ?

Lynn, I think the Border Agents would get in trouble if they fired on the illegals starting the fires or if they had trouble catching them like they did before and got in trouble. Itis wrong, the Agents should be able to do their jobs and not worry about getting into trouble for doing it.

Tom that is the thing, they do assume they can do anything. They burned our Flag to make their point, they turned it upside down and hung it below theirs, they break more laws then just the iimmigration law and then they hear our President want to cater to them and oh man this is so upsetting.
