Murtha: Move trials out of Guantanamo

Pennsylvania's Rep. John Murtha yesterday said he would start pushing the Bush administration to move military trials for high-level terrorism suspects from the controversial detention facility at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba to the U.S. mainland.
Such a step, he argued, would help improve the nation's image abroad after years of negative publicity surrounding the prison camp, which first opened in January 2002 and now holds about 380 detainees.
"We don't want anybody released who is a threat," Mr. Murtha, D-Johnstown, said after a hearing of the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee. "But, on the other hand, we have to get them a fair trial."
Afghans, Saudis, and Yemenis make up the top three nationalities among detainees.

What gets me is Murtha's concern that these people get a "fair trial". He is more worried about the terrorists then he is that crime pays.
I will never ever forget nor forgive Murtha for things he has said......here is a quote by Murtha.........

He's mean and slobby. He thinks he's all that and a bag of chips (whoops! he ate the chips!). He needs to be shut down too.
For a man who served in Vietnam, I'm surprised he's on the other side.
He should be fighting for Veterans rights and he's not. He brings shame to the USMC!

Murtha has lost any credibility, if he ever had any, after ABSCAM we all know what drives him.
Madam Chairman, ...er Speaker wants the CIA to start a fight against global warming ...And if you have a campfire in your back yard you will be hauled into court to explain your actions ... and then fined,(again follow the money, these people are disgustingly all socialists, 'useful idiots') for not buying a Carbon Credit.
God willing the American People will wake up before it is too late.

What makes these people so Socialist? It is almost as though they hate America so much they want to destroy her. I know they love power and they are egotists. They are so far out of touch with Middle America. So many of these democraps would have felt right at home serving in the old Soviet Politiboro.
I am sure it will never happen, but the best thing for Federal government would be extreme term limits.

Jeeez, that guy Murtha was stillborn. The fight by Islamists against America goes way back. The first United States military action overseas, executed by the U.S. Marines and Navy, was the storming of Darnis, Tripoli, in 1805. That %@#* Murtha calls himself a Marine, he wouldn't make a carbuncle on the backside of a real Marine. Pelosi must not only be pulling his strings but casting her voice as his also.

Why are we even having trials? Caught on the battlefield without a uniform = unlawful combatant = no Geneva conventions for them. Catch 'em, get the intel, release 'em from a plane sans parachute.

Mark, yes, and he is one of the main ones if a soldier does mention the Congress to me in emails,it is always with the name Murtha and how they feel about him.
