"Do not test my will" ~ Bush Tells Dems About Iraq
Bush to Democrats: do not 'test my will' on Iraq
CAMP DAVID, United States (AFP) - Despite growing criticism of US policy in Iraq, President George W. Bush warned Democrats Friday not to "test my will" after he vetoes a bill withdrawing US troops from Iraq.
Bush invited Democrats and leaders of his Republican Party to discuss a way out of their standoff soon after he strikes down the bill, approved by Congress this week, which ties 124 billion dollars in war funds to a troop withdrawal that would start on October 1.
But he pledged to strike down any subsequent attempt by the Democratic-led Congress to set a deadline for a pullout.
"If the Congress wants to test my will as to whether or not I'll accept the timetable for withdrawal, I won't accept one," he told a joint news conference at his retreat in Camp David, Maryland, with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
"So if they want to try again that which I have said was unacceptable, then of course I'll veto it," Bush said.
"But I hope it doesn't come to that. I believe we can work a way forward. And I think we can come to our senses and make sure that we get the money to the troops in a timely fashion," he said.
Wild Thing's comment...........
I will never forget the many attacks from the followers of Islam during the Clinton regime. How I felt not only afraid for our country but also the feeling of a weakness setting in to the strongest, most powerful country in the world. A President that could not even salute our service men and know how to do it properly. NO that would have taken an effort and respect on his part to honor our service men and women. In fact he loathed our military and still does.
Many of our politicians have said the war should end, bring them home, we need to have talks with the insurgents ( Reid has said this just this last week) and we need to use diplomacy with the insurgents and not kill them or fight them any longer.
WTF, what kind of brain would even have that thought come into their gray matter. Talk to the insurgents????? I mean it this just makes my head want to explode. TALK to them??
These are people that live in a backwards world, treat sheep and goats and cattle like long lost girlfriends if you get what I mean. Think having a child of their own is their donation to the next suicide bomber and think nothing of cutting the head off of anyone of us including their own family members if they get ticked off at their behavior.
Sure that will do the trick Reid and Pelosi and the rest of you lefties. Schedule a sit down with these subhumans and see how far you get. That IS of course if you can find them without them killing you first.
I am no fan of some of the things Bush has done and wants to do such as the freaking illegals. But by God he does want to let the troops do what they do best and he does respect our military unlike those traitors in our Houses on the Hill.

Last night my hubby and I went to see The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance at a fundraiser for the school for the hearing impaired (met AC Lyles--nice, charming fellow--he kissed my hand and called me "his girl")--I saw some similarities. Bush is Ransom--a kindhearted lawyer who just gets pushed too far, Harry Reid is Liberty (he's a big thorn in Ransom's side!) Cheney is Tom Doniphon (a crackshot).
There are others, but it would take a book to list them all.
I simply loved the movie because it hit home on how our politicians are acting today. Like a bunch of monkeys in the zoo!

It's sad that the dummycraps will keep trying to push the funding bill through and stalling for time to the point the troops have no ammo, food, armour, nothing ( a slow bleed) and of course, will blame it all on Bush! They'll keep that timeline in there because they know he won't approve it.
Like I said, Monkeys in the zoo!

Zoo monkeys are noted for screeching and throwing their own waste. Sounds like the democrats. Who sound like CAIR.
The concept of purposely trying to lose a war is difficult to grasp. I know the democrats did the same thing in Vietnam, but at the time we did not really believe it. Now there is no doubt. To waste your own troops lives and effort, to jeopardize the security of America just to make political points is an unbelievable sickness.
I commend President Bush for standing his ground on the war. I wish we had been much more aggressive and less appeasing at times, but at least Bush is set on the objective of keeping the battles on the other side of the world. It really takes some guts on his part to stand up to the horrendous onslaught by the Liberal attack monkeys.

Perhaps it will take an Islam-fascist homicide bomber in the Rayburn house to get their attention, but I doubt it. Most likely they'd want to psychoanalyze why they are hated and play 'let's make a deal'. They are willing Dhimmi's and want us to join them.

Speaking of our President, has anyone read this article by Newsweek on how President Bush deals with families of military members who died in battle? It's a whole different side of the President.

Lynn wow that is awesome, thank you so much for sharing about the film. I saw it years ago and I remember it very well.
I loved your comparisons too. Thank you.

I was with 'W' since 1999 when the GOPhers didn't have any elephants to run in 2000 that were worth a sh*t, so I became a Bushbacker in '99 and the Longhorn won 30 U.S. red states in 2000...and 31 red states in 2004. I am disgusted how most of his fellow Republicans have left him hang out to dry. I new we were in trouble when Ari Fleischer, Karen Hughes and Andy Card bolted...God love Condi for hanging in there. Condi and Laura Bush are wonderful ladies!

Tom I agree, it can't be easy to day in day out take the abuse Bush gets from the left about the war.
I have a hard time handling the left on this anti-war stuff, I just don't understand not wanting to do what needs to be done.

Jack I was wondering that too. LIke maybe that would wake them up. The left would probably blame Bush instead of the terrorists. augh!
