Today would have been President Reagan's birthday. He would be 96 years old today. Oh how I wish we had more leaders like Reagan, we need them now more then ever. President Reagan was and will be a legend in the hearts of we conservatives forever.

I couldn't agree more, he accomplished so much and did it all with a minority Congress, there aren't any like him around inside the party now and look at who the RNC is pushing, scary stuff. This one Reagan quote says so much.

Ronald Reagan was a leader. He communicated leadership, as a leader he communicated. He did not test the prevailng winds of public opinion. He made public opinion. He took Carters bullshit "national malaise" and turned it into American patriotism.
I think Reagan would be appalled at todays Republican Party. It is a rudderless dingy with no upcoming leader that I can see. Ronald Reagan would look at the GOP/RNC, and fix it.
Reagan was great with the short quote, like Will Rogers. In both cases their quotes said something valid and were not merely funny, but usually were an answer to a pertinent problem.

Chilling to think about isn't it Jack, that this might be the generation or close to it. PC has certainly taken a lot of our freedoms away.

Reagan was America. He stood for something great that we ALL should strive to achieve.
He was the first President I voted for and I have based my decisions on WWRRD? (What would Ronnie Reagan do?)
He meant so much to us. It's time we stopped and remembered how wonderful it was when the Hostages came home from Iran and how prosperous the '80s seemed to be. That was all Ronnie's doing. He made us proud to be Americans!
