You're ignoring the upside. With most candidates you must wait for the opposition to demonize them. You can loathe & detest Hillary from the Git-Go.
I was really, really happy when she announced. No fear of a boring no-name field. And I am glad that the Missing-Chromosome Left Wing have a candidate they can get behind.
