Thinking of What Might Be Down The Road
Something to think about, US Troops in Iraq to the west of Iran. US Troops to the east of Iran in Afghanistan. US Fleet in the Persian Gulf in the Arabian Sea to the South of Iran. --- Wild Thing
* General Casey is replaced by Lt Gen General David Petraeus as Commander, Multinational Force - Iraq. Gets fourth star.
* General Abizaid is replaced by Admiral William Fallon as CentCom.
* John Negroponte is replaced by Adm (ret) Mike McConnell, former Director of the NSA, as intel chief.
* Zalmay Khalilzad--an Afghan Pashtu Muslim--will be US ambassador to the U.N.
* Three US Navy battle groups are in the Persian Gulf.
* US Special Forces and Coalition naval assets are aiding Ethiopia's efforts in driving Islamists out of Somalia.
* The US has released documents proving that Iran is materially aiding both Sunni and Shiite forces in Iraq.

Two MORE battle groups, in addition to the three there, pull the troops out of Korea and put them on the border in Afghanistan with Iran, some nuke tipped Israeli missiles,.....then, you've got a party.

I have only vague ideas of the road ahead. It is the road already traveled that may hold the key.
Did we screw up by not planning for an insurgency? Did we determine the outcome of this war by not pushing Israel to continue attacking Hizbollah in Lebanon? Did the failure of Bush41 to finish off Saddam's Revolutionary Guards in the first Gulf War set the example that we don't take war seriously?
I like that we are killing terrorists in Iraq. Can we kill enough to call this war a victory? Will the factions in Iraq ever unite enough to minimize the fighting? Does our leadership know what it is doing and, if so, can it ever get it's message across to America? Are we giving full support to elements in Iran that are trying to change that government?
So many questions, so much at stake. Maybe the biggest question; will the subversive elements in America, such as the MSM and Liberals, keep America from accomplishing anything but self-destruction?

Picture looks like the Mushroom Cloud at the end of the road of diplomacy.

It looks to me like Iran want's to be the big dog in the middle east, controlling Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Iraq, Yemen, Jordan, Israel and Eurabia under an Islamic Caliphate. With U.N. help Russia, France and our very own Democrat Party are making that happen. Bob's mushroom cloud may very well be the outcome of failed diplomacy.

Jack, very scary. I can hardly wait to hear what Bush will say on Wed. night, but at the same time I don't have a lot of confidence in what it might be. For me that is not a good sign at all. Yep very scary.
