Number 1 Threat To America
Wild Thing's comment.......
You just know I had to post this since I am a teddy bear collector and the name of my blog is Theodore's World
(aka PC Free Zone) after Theodore Roosevelt.
Just a little something for fun for all of you. Thank you Linda for the video. ( giggle)

That is clever. I wonder if polars and grizzilies ever do cross breed?

Funny video but lacking in facts. No Tom, unlikely they'd ever cross, they don't share a common range or habits. Grizzly Bears do range into Polar Bear territory and would likely end up a meal for the Polar's if they were there at the same time, the Grizzly is usually still in hibernation when the Polar Bear comes ashore. In the 19 winters I spent North of the Arctic Circle I've never seen Polar Bear ashore later than February, feeding on seals and Arctic Foxes near the shoreline, everything is a meal for a polar bear. I've seen them take two or three seals from a vent hole in the ice and feed on them for days, killing any foxes that try to steal their food, they'll stay around until the seals and the foxes are consumed, then they'll move out on the ice cap during breakup where they'll mate. The Toklat, or Barren land Grizzly Bear is smaller and sleeps through the winter they often follow the Caribou herds and live off the weak animals and their calves, other times they feed off vegetation and berries, raid fox dens, hunt lemmings and ground squirrels, a fun site to watch. Both are a force to reckon with if you happen to be in their territory since neither fear humans.

Jack, 19 winters north of the Arctic Circle! Yaaaaa, I like occassional cold weather and snow in the mountains, but I am a hot weather fan. The most uncomfy I have ever been was in some cold Special Forces training. Brrrr, I did not bring the correct clothing. My type of weather is the type that is conducive to bikinis.
