Iran To Launch Major Military Maneuvers ~ Like Right After They Pray?
Iran to launch major military maneuvers
The Jerusalem Post
Iran will launch a series of large-scale military maneuvers across the country and has not made plans for an end to the ongoing war games, the army said Thursday.
"The maneuvers are aimed at introducing Iran's new defensive doctrine," military spokesman Gen. Mohammad Reza Ashtiani was quoted as saying by state-run television.
He said the exercises would begin on Saturday in the south east of the country. "It will continue in the whole of Iran, stage by stage for an unspecified period," Ashtiani said.
The announcement came as Iran faces heightened international scrutiny because of its contentious nuclear program and for supporting the Lebanese Hizbullah guerrillas.
Iran denies Israeli accusations it is arming and training Hizbullah fighters.
Ashtiani praised Hizbullah for its month-long fight against Israel. "Human forces can decide fate of a war. We saw it in Lebanon," the general said, echoing Hizbullah claims it won the war by resisting a massive bombing and ground offensive for more than a month before a UN-brokered cease-fire came into place earlier this week.
The military spokesman said Iran's maneuvers reflected the current level of tension in the Middle East. "We have to be prepared against any threat and we should be a role model for other countries," local newspapers quoted Gen. Ashtiani, as saying. "Our army is ready to defuse all plots against Islamic Republic of Iran."
The military exercise, involving 12 infantry regiments, is called "The Blow of Zolfaghar," in reference to a sword that belonged to Imam Ali, one of the most revered figures of Islam for Shi'ite Muslims. A majority of Iran's 70 million people are Shi'ite.
On Wednesday, the Interior Ministry said that Iran also plans to boost security patrols on its borders.
Wild Thing's comment.....
So who are they planning on going to war with?
And here a question I have. When they are at war such the Hezbollah and the so called army of Iran etc. They are supposed to pray 5 times a day, I mean IF they are a good Muslim / Muzzbolla and all. . So how do they work in their prayer time and shooting time.
In the film industry there are stand-ins for us. They stand their when lighting a set and for all kinds of reasons. Does the Iranian military have stand-ins for praying for them? Or maybe they are exempt as long as they are killing innocent people.

They are just taking advantage of the chance to provoke the US, same as with the nuke program. They have a window when they are safe from any type of military action - the forces of the US and most of Europe are tied up in Afganistan and Iraq, and soon Lebanon, they cant spare the resources for a major offensive against Iran.

This ought to irritate lots of Iranian citizens, and open the door to underground television watching. I wonder if they are also cracking down on internet cafes as that would also be a major source of world news. Maybe, just maybe, the anger level will rise enough for another Iranian revolution.

Europe is in the greatest danger from Iran but they ignore it, just like they ignore their traditional enemy of freedom, Russia. With the stranglehold of Communism broken in the former Soviet Union, Russia has to build new allies in it's qwest for world dominance. Vladimir Putin is investing in that future in Iran. Countries that have embraced the Socialist (Communist) concept of the European Union have sold out their sovereignty under the pretext that the UN will provide for their security to a Communist organization that spreads misery and death instead of freedom and prosperity.
Yes the United States is involved in Iraq and Afghanistan, doing battle on three fronts, we have our Communists too. Not as some folks from places like Blue Yonder Co. UK percieve, by thinking that the United States cannot spare the resources for a major offensive against Iran, which is the message that is trumpetted in the news by the likes of CNN, the Democrat party and some select RINO's to Europe and our enemies in the Islamic nations.
Unlike in world wars one and two, it's very doubtfull that the United States is going to fight Europes battles for them again, let alone intercede in battle to protect those countries that have repeatedly bitten the protective hand that has bled for them before.
If the United States really feels threatened or is attacked by Iran, I'm certain that men like George W. Bush will have the intestinal fortitude and the adequate testosterone level to provide that great blue phosphorescent glow that they so richly deserve in Iran to be followed by groung troops that believe in freedom, not Islam.
I hope that everyone has a nice day in Blue Yonder Co. UK, and in the land of Vichy France, kick back, read the Koran and hide under the Burqa's.

Maybe Tom. For them, it's never too soon to prepare for subjugation. They spend their lives giving in to temptation, fear, group think, easy explanations, their kids, government, teachers, unions, quotas, coaches, and all the rest.
They do have one weapon, though. Consumer Reports. Damnned if they'll be taken in by that profit-mongering manufacturer of weed whackers and bread machines. They'll drive one of the worst, most menacing and uncontrollable cars ever made...the Volvo 240D, until it blows oil through the heater vents...but think they're screwing General Motors.
Well, maybe they're right about General Motors.
And Tincan, a formation for farts? It's so non-environmentalist.

Tom, I was wondering if it would effect the internet cafes too.
Posted by: Wild Thing at August 19, 2006 01:46 AM
Jack I agree I think Bush will do whatever he has to if we are attacked like you said.
Posted by: Wild Thing at August 19, 2006 01:47 AM
Rhod, guess what......Hahahaha
The very first time I saw that photo, I thought it was a herd of sheep. I had to look really close to see what the heck it was.
LMAO love your comment.

I should have been clearer: The US could, in strictly military terms, blast Iran back into the stone age with ease. But they are much better at invading a country than staying there. The constant low-level violence in Iraq is currently a political embassment, and any attempt to occupy Iran would be far worse than that.

Suricou:
Please. Read your current post and tell me where it makes sense.
You first sentence about being "clearer" is laughable.
You second sentence contradicts your first post entirely.
Your third sentence is a non-sequitur to the first sentence, and the compound declaration in your third sentence about "staying there" makes no sense BECAUSE WE'RE STAYING THERE!
The first half of your fourth sentence is a pointless rumination about "political embarrassment", which contradicts the second half of your third sentence, which implies that we aren't good at "staying there".
The second half of your fourth sentence is idle nonsense, because if your second sentence is true, then an occupation isn't necessary.
You get the prize this time, Suricou. Fifty-six words and not a shred of logic or consistency.
