This isn't surprising. The Union Jack has been diminished, mocked, used for clothing patterns and otherwise vulgarized since the mid '60's. Britain is now a shabby theme park without an ethos. However strong Blair has been in the current war, he and his kind have been busily deconstructing the United Kingdom all their lives, and today Britain is signified by the lousy Millenium Dome and a stupid Ferris Wheel near Tower Bridge. An amusement park with no one in charge? Nobody.

Their flag became the colorful focus for all the hatred in the unexamined and vague ideas of the British Left a long time ago. Watch any old Monty Python routine today, and you see that what was once funny, seems now to simply be a prolonged rant and temper tantrum directed at British culture. I don't go there anymore. In the air is a mood of futility, decrepititude and resignation, held together by luxury goods and hooliganism. Right, Suricou?

One more thing. The place called Britain, which is now chiefly England and maybe a Channel Island...forget Scotland, one of the most sissified, selfish and PC countries in the world, is further advanced in its Islamist decay than France. Blair is the contradiction and the cover. He now has the ironic job of defending the worthless thing he's created, and finding very few allies. Right Suricou?

Although I have given up on most of "old" Europe I still have a little bit of faith that the British will pull out of the socialist trap. The Brits have a long long history of of being a free people and once they realize the trap of socialism they might rebel. It will not be the first time..the Brits also have a long history of internal strife and revolution and have always emerged stronger for it. Just expect to see a lot of dead ragheads while it is happening.

I wonder, if England had a Second Amendment, if the Brits would have more spine and patriotism!

I really hate to see what has happened to Europe in the last 50 years. Denying a successful culture seems to be an act of suicide. I hope more Americans wake up to this while we still have a chance. Maybe the reality of a few more demonstrators waving Mexican flags will rally the populace, even if the politicians are out to lunch.

Stop people showing the flag! Hah! Its World Cup time - you cant walk down a street here without seeing them hanging from windows and decorating cars. We may not be as dedicated to patriotism as you Americans, but *noone* comes between us and football.

Oh, and I will of course be spreading this story around in order to incite as much anti-muslim sentiment as I can manage :)

GUYK has a point in his post. The Brits have a history of hundreds of years they take a lot but when they get a belly full they react with vengeance. I hope it is sooner rather than later.It will be nice to see them packing up the ragheads and there demands and send them packing.

I agree Tom, what has happened to Europe should be of concern big time to everyone in America. We are such a baby country and it ticks me off how fast we have let the PC jerks rule and the left have their way on way too many things to try and destroy our Nation.
