Al-Jazeera Network Plans American Station
Al-Jazeera, the television network that many call the propaganda wing of the radical Islamist movement in the world, is scheduled shortly to launch their network in English aimed at Americans with their new studios being in Washington DC. The United American Committee objects to the establishment of the network in America; "It's as if Joseph Goebbels, the Propaganda Minster for Hitler, were to have set up a station in America during WWII." says Lee Kaplan, member of the UAC executive committee. Al-Jazeera plans on launching their 24 hour 7 day a week channel in America this spring.
Al-Jazeera has drawn criticism from the U.S. for broadcasting footage of killed and captured American soldiers, and has failed in assisting the U.S. Government in tracing sources of video footage provided to the network by Al-Qa'eda operatives. Yosri Fouda, of Al-Jazeera said in a BBC News interview the reasons for Al-Jazeera's popularity;
"For western audiences, part of the shock is in seeing American and British dead bodies and POWs."
The network often broadcasts exclusive messages from bin Laden and other top terror leaders involved in the global Jihad against the West. Messages which are not screened by any government terror experts.
"They can be broadcasting messages from bin Laden in which he commands his followers to take specific actions, and these messages would not be at all screened prior to its broadcast." says UAC founder & Chair Jesse Petrilla, "We must not let this happen."
United American Committee member Robert Sandoval reacts to the news of Al-Jazeera America and the UAC's planned protest;
"I support a free media, and do not wish for the government to interfere, but when that media is planning on broadcasting to my children messages from our enemies and videos of beheadings, it's the peoples right to stand up against it."

Hi RWR, it sure is terroroists propaganda. I have posted at Al-Jazeera (not recently but months and months ago) and did it just to stand up for our troops. Al-Jazeera loves to have articles there bashing our military and calling them horrible names.
Thanks for commenting.

I am afraid of who their audience is. There may already be enough muslim nutcases here, both imported and home-grown, to cause serious problems. Although, I am sure their imans at the mosques are more dangerous than Al-Jazeera.

I'm against it, but we already have two cable networks and three broadcast networks essentially doing the same thing. I don't mean to funny, there, either. It's true.
The potential for an Al-Jazeera network is just a part of our inability to rationalize and codify the fact that we're in a "war", and define where the threats lie. Unlike our previous wars, the war against Islamism and Islamofascism hasn't even clarified who the enemy is. Who the hell are the terrorists? If it's the guys who are shooting at us, it's a War Against Bad Guys. Still stupid beyond description.
A War Against Terrorism is an equally ridiculous expression because "terrorism" isn't an entity, it's an act. Call it a War Against Shooting, call it anything, but wars have combatants, a beginning, and process and an end. Since The Great Society, we've been declaring wars on all sort of ephemeral things (poverty, racism, etc.), and sooner or later a bureaucracy develops to perpetuate itself and the war.
Discourse and political thinking today is incapacitated by the lingo and evasive, unclear terminology of liberalism and the 1960's.
Until we declare war on SOMETHING tangible, some country or set of ideas (e.g., communism), we'll be paralyzed by our own bullshit. You can't keep Al Jazeera out if Al Jazeera isn't the enemy.

Tom, I am totally against it. Their main audience will be those that hate America, are pro terrorists and I am not for this thing at all.
What you said "There may already be enough muslim nutcases here, both imported and home-grown".........exactly and we don't need a network so available to feed them their hate.
Thanks for commenting.

Rhod Yesss I agree.
I am totally against it. I know we have freedom of the press blah blah but this is more then that. And like you said we already have the media working overtime to promote the agenda of America is wrong, Troops are bad and do evil things, all the bs they do every day that has my head spining with anger at them. Their saying they would NOT wear a Flag pin after 9-11 because it 'might' offend Islam followers. WTF!!!
As you said we would not be able to keep Al Jazeera out of Al Jazeera. There is no way!
Like I said Ihave not been to their site in a long time, but it was loaded with propaganda against America, our troops etc. I did NOT go there thinking it would be any different, I only went there to blast them. haha
I was shocked as heck when Al Jazeera was allowed to be at the political conventions. Good grief there was NO reason for it thatI could understand. It IMO was just a way to kiss up to Al Jazeera ( an arm of the enemy) and nothing more.

Hmm. Seems like the Islamist cockroach has scurried out from under the draining Porto-Potty again.
American soldiers have killed about thirty thousand of his terrorists pals, and AIA is laughing about it. So are we.
We're also kicking their butts across the globe, smoking their sandals everywhere and AIA says we're giving up. Maybe our trigger fingers are just tired, or we're laughing too hard.

more whine with your pork chops...

Subhunter:
My point is this: Calling it a War on Terror does not define the enemy. The ports deal was partly an inability to arrive at a conclusion about Dubai as a potential terrorist state. Is Yemen a terrorist state because Al Jazeera is based there?
Are the Saudis our friends or not? Are the Europeans? The Pakistanis? This is a real problem, and it complicates our relationships with states that play host to terrorists of all kinds, but whose official policy is different.
We have the additional problem of being unable to discredit Islam the way we did fascism and Communism. Islam produces Islamism and its variant Islamofascism, and it's main complaint is a complaint against modernity and The West. But who are the killers? I'm tempted to say "all of them", but that's not true either.

I dislike the idea of Al Jazeera setting up shop here. It is the propoganda arm of militant Islam.
We are at war with militant Islam. If it were a war on "terror" we would be helping to round up IRA splinter groups, Basque splinter groups, et al. We are not-our attention is focused on Islamofacists but the government is failing to say that because of the PC ramifications.
One note about the "supposed" muslim above-it's likely some left winger pulling a joke. If not then it's no use dropping pamphlets over a group of these characters because the nut job above uses the same dialect American rappers use-along with the same spelling.

Just this for you an education. Click on these and you will see how Islam is not a religion of peace, love and tolerance.

I have mixed emotions on this one. My dislike of Muslims and everything the Islamic community stands for tells me to ban the assholes from the country. But I also am a neo libertarian and believe sincerely in the freedom of speech and expression. Thus I have to agree that although I may not like it bring it on.
On the bright side the type of propaganda that this netword uses generally doesn't work with most Americans.Although there are some, especially the socialist donks, who are led like sheep most will be turned off by Al-Jazeera. Moreover, we can tell by the advertisers on the network who is supporting the terrorists by default. It may work against the ragheads instead of helping them.
